Gold Radio is part of Gold, a network of oldies radio stations based in the UK. The company was established after the merger of the Classic Gold Network and the Capital Gold Network in 8/2007. Gold Radio was then launched in 3/2014. Initially, it started as a partly-automated service, only broadcasting in a few areas since Gold's local AM/DAB frequencies had been transferred to another radio station - Smooth. Currently, most of the station's programmes are broadcast from the Global Radio Station studios based in Leicester Square, London.
Gold Radio always plays the best hits of all time, including songs from the 60s and 90s. You can look it up on their official website to get a more detailed programme schedule. Although most of Gold's output is automated, it's usually produced and presented to you from the Global studios in London.
So, most listeners who live in areas where the station broadcasts can still tune in on AM or DAB and listen to the greatest hits of all time. Alternatively, if you have Virgin Media, Freesat or Sky, you can listen to the radio's programming. Listeners also have an option of tuning in online or connecting to the radio station on the move via your smartphone, tablet or computer. You can also listen via TV or on Global Player's website/app.
