Times Radio launched on 29 June 2020. The station is owned and operated by Wireless Group and is aimed at a "mainstream" audience. The station's launch was announced in February 2020, with former BBC Radio 5 Live controller Jonathan Wall as its first chief executive. The station focuses more on the news with its format similar to that of BBC Radio 5 Live. Except for the four-hour breakfast program hosted by two presenters and (on weekdays) a one-hour "early breakfast" at 5 am, the format is largely live three-hour blocks led by a single presenter. The presenting lineup on Fridays is wholly independent of the Monday–Thursday schedule, except for early morning and Matt Chorley's program. The weekend schedule also has different programming.
You can find Times Radio on DAB digital radio for free or via a free app on your iOS or Android device. You can also tune in via the newspaper's website and some smart speakers. They also ensure that the programmes are available for a week after broadcast via the app or website.
