Kool London started on 28 November 1991 as a pirate radio station in London. Currently, the station also broadcasts as an internet station. In the past, Kool London has won the "Best Radio/Internet Station" during the Drum n Bass Awards severally. The most recent award was in 2012, which was the 13th one. The station broadcasted live for eight hours in June 2013 from the Royal Academy of Arts.
Kool London has been instrumental in the betterment of the jungle music industry. Previously known as Kool FM, the former pirate radio station plays drum and bass, jungle and old skool. The station was relaunched as Kool London in 2010 and now operates solely as an internet radio station. In 2013, the station participated in a live broadcast as part of Eddie Peake's graduation from the Royal Academy of Arts. The second live broadcast was in 2018 at the White Cube Concrete Pitch show.
